AGRICULTURE PROGRAM


Introduction 

This is an agricultural program is involved in capacity building Locals and leaders on improved agricultural technologies. Most of the people and leaders in Kenya and specifically those living in rural areas live below poverty lines. 


Kenya Agricultural Programs has The locals are not able to support them and in fact demand support from them.

You find that the communities cannot sufficiently meet their basic needs especially;

  1. Food
  2. Shelter
  3. Clothing and
  4. Education for their children

The communities have pieces of land which they depend on for livelihood. Most of them lack the skills and knowledge of putting this lands into productive enterprises. They use indigenous and subsistence farming techniques.

  • Village saving and loaning
  • Dairy production and management

MORNITORING AND EVALUATION/FOLLOWUP.

Achievements 

So far 561 community leaders  have been trained directly but so far the trainees have been able to reach and impact other community members, immediate families and neighbors which as totaled to 3870 people being reached.

They have been trained on:

  1. Agricultural business
  2. Poultry production
  3. Banana production and management
  4. Dairy cow production and management
  5. Sustainable agricultural land management practices
  6. Village saving and loaning
  7. Horticulture production
  8. Organic farming among others
